edelbrock tpi or converted LT1 intake for 383...

Like the topic states, I can purchase either one for the same price, my engine should be back together soon so i have to decide on an intake. See sig for mods...

it depends on how you want the engine to act and what you use the car for.
TPI will give more low end torque but choke up in the high RPM's
LT1 has a broader powerband and more high RPM horsepower.

My opinion is to go with the LT1 intake especially with a 383. TPI... even an aftermarket one is going to choke it.

The cam your using is also designed for an intake like the LT1 and peaks higher than TPI likes.

I agree with Hodge. You have done too much engine work to go with TPI . I dont think Tpi would let you have all the potential horsepower your engine combo has.

I would go with the stealth ram over either of the two.

Ok, but seeing as he already stated his options...

I too, though being a big fan and promoter of the hi-flo stock style TPI's, must concur and say that a more than mild 383 would benefit more from an LT1 style intake. Unless of course you were planning on fully porting the edelbrocks extra area in the base manifold, full siamesed runners, and a lot of work on the upper plenum. Then I'd be curious to see dyno numbers cause that'd be a hard decision.

But, out of the box edelbrock vs LT1 style intake. Go with the LT1.

Im long winded, sorry.
