Fuel Pressure Setting?
Ok... this weekend I put my plenum and fuel rails back on the car...there was some initial hesitation on start up (the starter would click but no go..it was a lose ground I believe)
Anyway... fired her up and set the fuel pressure at around 39-40 psi at idle. She idled nice and smooth....
The question I have is... when I was revving her up I noticed that the fuel pressure would shoot up from 40 psi to about 48 psi...this was at about 2500 rpm's. Is this normal? What should it be? And what kind of pressure should I see at WOT??
I know that the injectors can handle pressure up to 80 psi as that was what they were pressure tested at Cruzin Performance.
Other than that she idled and revved really nice....flowed and cleaned injectors and a ported/polished plenum does wonders for idle

87ROCZ....did you set the pressure correctly? This is how it should be done as far as I know....disconnect the vac line to your regulator, put your gauge on the car, and turn the key to the on position. Just set it like that...I'm pretty sure that removing the vac line simulates a wide open throttle condition. Also don't go too rich. I had mine set at 50lbs and found out that I was running too much pressure so now I backed it down to 45psi instead.

Disconnect the vac line, plug the hole where you disconnected it from and read the pressure with the engine at idle. Shoot for 43.5 psi.

Cool
So if I shoot for 43.5 psi with the vac line off..what will the pressure be once I connect the vac line?
And how do I do it? With the engine running and idling?

Just hook your gauge up in the morning before you fire it up for the first time, disconnect the vac line, fire it up and adjust from there. With the line connected the gauge should read about 5 less psi.

Cool... understood
So in idle with the vac line connected she should be sitting around 38-39 psi...
Gotcha....
Thanks for the tips!!
