Setting fuel preasure for LB9 305

Hey Guys , Its been a while , But I need a little help , My fuel preasure regulator died this weekend , so I ordered a AFPR today , What I need is to know what the stock reading is on the LB9 305 and what would be a good setting to bump it up to. I dont have to many mods other than SLP cold air intake and SLP exhuast, so many stock.
Thanks for the help guys

The best thing to do is to go to your local auto parts store and get a fuel pressure tester. This gauge will hook up to the schrader valve on the fuel rail, and then you can see what the pressure is and adjust accordingly. I've seen recommendations of 49-52 psi, but the best way to find out what your car really likes is by A: running it at the track and adjusting the pressure up or down until you get your best ET, or B: buy some dyno time. A dyno will usually have a Lambda meter or some type of gauge that will give you your air/fuel ratio.

I would rather set the car up with some runs at the track but right now the car is not running . I'm just looking for what the stock setting should be for a lb9 305.
Thanks

The AFPR is nothing more than the cover to your fuel pressure regulator with a screw or **** on top to adjust the spring tention in the regulator, it is not a new regulator. You said in your post your regulator died, so you might want to check it first. My fuel pressure stock is 36 with the vacuum line on and 42 with it off, that is probably a good start. Someone correct me if I am out of the box on the regulator part.

Mine is the stock one and it is just dumping fuel into the cylinders so its either the diafram is ripped or the spring is shot either way it needs to be replaced so I figured it would be a good time to upgrade to a AFPR , I was trying to figure out what the stock setting is and what to bump it up to.

ok you didn't say what year but this is what gm recommends 85-87 is 37-43 psi and 88-92 is 41-47 psi. this is for both 5.0 and 5.7 liters. i have a question for b4c. do you think it is possible to place a small bolt thru the top of the stock cover to adjust the stock regulator? if so this could be almost a free mod.

I have heard this being done, I know there is a post on this board somewhere, looks like a nice free mod.
