need advice on a cam LPE's are kind of high priced and i am looking at the hot cam any suggestions are welcome
could someone run DesktopDyno on this for me com ratio about 9.8 or 10:1
Would aftermarket runners help me a new intake base is out of the question at this time

I have basically the identical engine combo on a 88' 5.7 IROC, I used an SLP cam: Duration at .05 = 218 intake 224 ehaust .330 lift on the intake side and .335 on the exhuast with 114deg of lobe seperation. This cam is very streetable and probably a bit mild but with stock programing it made 278hp at 4400rpm and 360ft/lbs at 3600rpm at the wheels on a chassis dyno. My only difference was no catalytic converter and original bottom end.

Yeah my 1/4 ET was 14.01at 101mph with auto tranny and BFG comp TA VR4's. When I switched to the T56 and 3.73 gears from my 3.27 gears I couldnt go as fast I think its my driving though. Plus I live in Calgary AB and it has a very high altitude.

you could use the zz3/4 cam. the hot lt4 cam does not work the greatest with a long runner tpi intake. the runners will help, although you should get the base too.
Well i would love to be able to get a base and runners at this time but, i dont want to take any shortcuts on my rebuild either.
so with the budget i have im thinking the base and runners are an easy swap in a few months when i can save up for them and i can do my bottom end now the correct way without shortcuts.
if I could wait to do the whole thing I would but i really need to rebuild the block now.
