resluts and questions on heads, etc

hey all.

Finally got my Z back up and running again and got it o the track. I have some very detailed & intense tech aricles that are close to finished, but I would like some outside non-biased thoughts before I wrap it all up.

Short version: All mods in sig plus added:

I Ported the Vortec heads and got them to flow:
68.3 @100, 127.5@.200, 189.7@.300, 234.4@.300, 251.4 @.450, 256.6@.475, 251.4@.500
also, the intake runner size was increased to 185.5cc

Comp Cam, Xtreme Energy XR 269 HR-12 (218/224) (.495/.503)

Wildly ported SLP runners and wildly ported plenum. STOCK TB, and mildly ported SDPC base. All components have been port matched as well.

Went to the track and here's what I got

1.95 60'
8.457@84.08 mph 1/8th
13.133@106.11 mph 1/4

I know my launch SUCKED, ESPECIALLY b/c of the fact that I was on 26" tall Hoosiers. The track really sucks and the humididty was high. Spun 2nd gear a little(have no clue how) but i was STILL expecting something quicker than this. What's your take guys?

I went the SAME EXACT E/T 1 more time also..but w/ a 1.883 60' (the humidity was getting RIDICULOUS at this point) I am in S. Florida and it is like RAIN when its humid out here LOL

I did a bottle run but lost the nitrous in 2 gear....clicked off an 11.53 @115.59 w/ a 1.670 60'.

My tranny took a dump on me today so a Pro-Built will be in soon w/ a good matched converter also....ANY COMMENTS???? I dont like the numbers here! Ohh, this is on an SLP prom BTW. I have a custom tuner that promises to get every HP he can out of it with me...we're working on the chip

IMO - you have a very nice LTR set up. I think you need to work on getting it to hook better. I ran faster w/ less MPH with less of a motor. It was only possible due to traction.

Here's a few runs:

#1
1.707 60ft.
8.252 1/8
81.87 MPH
13.042 1/4
102.24 MPH

#2
1.745 60ft.
8.292 1/8
81.67 MPH
13.089 1/4
102.34 MPH

#3
1.726 60FT.
8.239 1/8
82.39 MPH
13.009 1/4
102.78 MPH

Some of my weak MPH is due to a non luck up TC. HTH

Nothing yet, in the midst of a SD harness swap... not to mention lots & lots of tuning. It should be good for over 100 more rear wheel HP vs. my old L98 motor. I've changed so much since the old motor that it's going to take a lot of expirimenting to make it all work. I feel my motor combination is solid, and other than tuning it is going to work out fine.
