Fuel pump voltage

I was just wondering does the fuel pump put out more when the throttle is depressed more or is it just a steady output? I have a 1991 Z-28

Don't know if this'll apply to a thirdgen but I found that on my turbo DSM that the voltage at the pump would actually drop at full throttle and continue dropping as the rpm's rose. This also caused the pressure to drop some. I corrected that problem by hardwiring from the battery to the pump with 8 gauge wire.
