Would this be a good start for building HP?

I have a 92 Formula 350, and am thinking of putting on a set of Hedman headers, new exhaust but switching from the factory dual cats to a large single cat, pullies, new TPI runners, possibly an AFPR, and a chip. I eventually want 300 HP, but thought this would be a good start. Any inputs? Thanks.

Sounds like you are off to a good start. However, there are a couple things I would do differently. I believe at the factory the dual cat setup was rated at 30(?) HP more than the factory single cat. If I were you, I would retain the dual cat setup. As for the chip, who makes it? If you are talking a hypertech or something to that effect, save your money. For the same price as that aftermarket chip (roughly), you can get into making your very own chips that are tailored to your car, instead of a generalized, mass produced PROM. Depending on what you want to do with your ride, you could get some exhaust cutouts as well.
