polishing plenum (?)

I was just wondering what the benefit of polishing the plenum is, how does it work? For those of you that have done it, have you noticed any difference? And if you have, was it worth the time? I was also wondering if anyone would care to estimate gains in hp/tq. I've read the tech article about polishing the plenum, and am thinking of doing it...
