does anyone know what the other sensor in the front of the intake is, the one with the connector that looks like the fuel injector connector? im assuming some kind of temp sensor, i ask because my coolant temp sensor is good and my primary fan still wont turn off.

There should be two sensors on the front of the intake there, the smaller one is the CTS and the bigger one would be for your cold start injector.

I think you are talking about your coolant temp sensor. Where is the sensor located that you are calling the coolant temp sensor? Just to be sure we are on the same page...

The one that pops on like a injector plug is the Cold start sensor for the 9th injector. The coolant temp sensor is a smaller 2 wired average plug.

2.73,
I didn't look at your sig at first to see that you are working on an 87. I was thinking about my 92. Sorry for any confusion. The pic Crusin posted should answer your question...
