popping through intake with tpi

Engine ran good with carb. Went with a stock cam from carbed engine to get things going. Was running awesome for maybe a week then it started backfiring through intake. I found a good bit on here about it backfiring. Checked wires, changed plugs, tried 2 other distributers, absolutely no vacuum leaks, and some other things I can't remember right now. To be more detailed it starts popping at maybe 2500 rpms and is very consistant as in prbably a single cylinder or 2 giving me trouble. Gets very bad under load while driving. I was thinking cam but I totally inspected it only maybe 30 mile ago. Had scan tool hooked up and didn't detect a knock or anything. The only thing that seemed strange to me is it showed total timing at around 21 degrees but I wasn't sure if that was with or w/o the initial timing. I really need help on this one. Thanks in advance.

well I have to say I don't think timing is a factor. I start it at 6 degrees. Turn distributer to advance it a bit, still the same. Little more, still no change. Also tried unhooking the est bypass wire and still does it.
