i want to switch my 350ci L98 TPI to a carb. what do i need to complete the swap? im getting rid of my tpi because i crashed my '88 gta and i bought a '86 trans am with no engine (but it was carbed before) and i dont feel like throwing all the wires and computers in the new body. plus i hear you can gain up to 30hp and i can get like $200-$300 for a whole tpi setup on ebay

A quick search would yeild you lot's of info...but mainly you'd need..

Intake
Carb
Vac Advance distributor (at least a mechanical advance, but use vac advance for mpg's)
New fuel pressure regulator

Some wiring to the distributor, different plumbing for the fuel lines, if you're going to keep the 700r4, you'd also want some lockup switch setup (manually or automatically) for the TC, if you pull the ECM.

You might also need something to convert/run the speedo as well.
