Fuel Pump

I'm about to start the carb to tpi swap and have everything I need for the swap. I have an Inline Fuel Pump from the donor car and was hoping that would be sufficient enough to supply my engine. After doing some reading I found out that Keeping the in-tank pump in and adding is just as bad as just having the in tank pump. Is there anyway I can solve this without dropping the gas tank. I'm pressed for time so another week without my car is not gonna be possible.

Dropping the tank only takes a few hours, not a week.
