If you're referring to the inside, yes...go ahead...polishing will only aid in airflow.
If you're speaking of the outside (visual) then consider $$ vs. shine vs. is it worth it. There's no performance advantange to polishing the outside if the runners.

yes, i was talking about the inside. i havent read anything on here about it and i didnt know if it would help or not......thanks mike.
What exactly did you have done for porting? I run that base and it needed alot of work!!! I fully ported and polished my base.
I started out by getting down and dirty with the injector bosses, I removed about 2/3rds of the alluminum from those gross castings then hogged out a bunch in the middle of the runners and finished up by gasket matching for my Superram. After all the porting was finished I fully polished the inside of the base. I would recomend some serious porting work to anyone who owns or plans to buy the SDPC base. The base is kinda rough out of the box but has alot of potential and extra material to port with, the bosses for the injectors have to be some of the worst casting processes I have ever seen, right up there with the out of the box SLP runners port openings.

as far as porting goes i smoothed out the runners, and blended them. and as far as the injector bosses go, your right .....their a mess.and i also gasket matched everything. i dont know why edelbrock ever let them go to sd,warehouse like that.
