Injector could be randomly sticking open, flooding cylinder and dousing the spark.

Could be bad cap and rotor (corroded #5 terminal inside cap).

Could be bad distrib.

Could be fouled #5 plug.

Could be bad #5 wire.

Probably bad #5 injector.

Those are the only things that come to mind.

What did you check before you posted? It's a misfire or a no-fire. What does the plug look like? How do you know it's not firing? The first thing you do to diagnose a misfire situation is pull the plug and see what's going on in there. Then check the resistance of the plug wire. If all is still good, pop off the dist. cap and see if there is something wrong with that post. Is there carbon build up inside the cap? Are the terminals on the cap and the rotor clean? If all checks out ok, then it's time to check compression. Compare it to the other cylinders in that bank and if it differs by more than 10 psi, then there is something wrong. You are either losing compression through the rings ( is there blue smoke coming out the tailpipe? Smell the oil. If it smells like exhaust or gasoline, then the rings are probably to blame) or you could be losing it through the head gasket. Is there white smoke? Coolant in the oil or oil in the coolant? Do a leakdown test on it to narrow it down.

You should at least try some stuff before you post here....or do a search. this has been posted thousands of times.
