what brand t.b.?

i am in the market for a t.b. for my 383/converted lt1 intake project thats nearing completion. i was wondering if t.b.'s were like the airfoils- none really better than another? i kinda like the arizona speed t.b.'s just because they are different- you dont hear or see many of those- and i like to be different- but at the same time i am wondering if there is reason behind the fact that few people use them. any pointers?

bbk, accel, arizona, holley, lpe, etc......

i guess what i am asking is- is there any reason to spend $100-$200 more for one made by LPE or Arizona. Or is there even any reason to spend the same amount on a used LPE when i get a new BBK or Edelbrock for the same price? i dont see how there can be much of a performace difference beween them- 58mm is 58mm no matter how you look at it- and i am assuming the bores are all just as smooth as the others.

any takers? :lala:

I would go with a Holley 52mm, unless you got a heavely modded 350+..then i'd go for 58mm.

In my humble opinion.....when I installed a 52mm throttlebody on my 86 350 TPI with cam, headers, 391 gears, ads chip etc, etc I had no actualy time differences between the stock one and the aftermarket one. .01 or 1/100 of a second was the only difference between stock and 52mm on 6 consecutive passes at the track......if you got the bucks then get a 58mm otherwise stay with stock until you get runners and a bigger center head.
