TPI engine idles up & dwn

I just instauled a TpI engine and had a little problem with it running rich and found the problem but now while it is Idleing the engine surges up and down un till it gets hot then Idles at 1500 rpm. can anyone help?

Did you try adjusting the IAC valve for minimum air and adjusting your TPS??? That could cause some idling problems. Also, if you havent already check your timing, and check for vacuum leaks. Id be willing to bet its your IAC valve going out or out of adjustment. Try that and post back...HTH

Check all the vacuum hoses, makes sure none are loose.

Also, try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes to clear any codes/limp home mode (this worked for me).

Idle problem

The car runs strong but at an Idle it will run like it should with a cam then it goes to hell surging until it quits.
I just instauld the motor and harness (TPI) 85 model it wants to Idle at 1500 rpm you bring it down and it goes to surging but give it a little throttle and it goes, could it be that the chip can not compensate for the cam at an Idle?
