Her's the deal...I cannot get my TPI engine in my 88 GTA to run for Sh*t. I think it's a problem with the cam...I tried burning my own chips, it starts up, idles, but when it come to driving, it just has no power, and it runs like crap...so I feel it's time to simplify life and get a carb...so a few things...1st..if I remove my computer and the harness, will my gauges still work? Will my fuel pump still turn on when I turn the igniton? Will the car ever start since I have VATS? Can I use my old alternator? 2nd...I will be selling a lot of nice basically 1 month old parts, such as...FORD #24 INJECTORS, BRAND NEW HOLLEY STEALTH RAM, STOCK 88 GTA HEADS, EDELBROCK ELITE SERIES CENTERBOLT VALVE COVERS, BRAND NEW 88 GTA DISTRIBUTOR, BRAND NEW COIL, COMPLETE MAF TPI UNIT WITH COMPUTER AND HARNESS, POCKET PROGRAMMER 2. Let me know if any of you guys want an of these items and make me offers I will be basically selling everything from the heads up.

By cam problem, do you mean not compatible to your tuning, or cam failure?

Wow, you sound really frustrated. I don't think your gauges will have a problem working without a computer, but the wiring may need to be fished through. The fuel pump for your TPI will not work well with a carb. Carbs only want 4-7 psi while your GTA is getting 40+ psi. Your best bet would be to pull the stock fuel pump. Then buy a carb designed electric pump and mount it near the tank. I know may people just leave the stock one where it is for obvious reasons, but I don't think that is a good idea. I don't know about the VATS, but I have a feeling it won't matter without the computer. Look into it though. And I don't know about the alt. Again I think it should work but look into it further. Check out the carb board and see what those guys and gals are doing for TPI to carb conversion. I think there is a tech article about it. Sorry to hear you are disappointed by the HSR, I am loving mine. Lots of power...
