rocker arm identification

hey, hopefully someone will be able to help me out...on crane gold roller rockers...how can i identify whether they are self aligning or not? will it be obvious?...is there any way, by lookin at em, if they are 1.5 or 1.6 ratio (is it marked or somethin)...may sound weird but im gonna try and buy some used and i just wanna double check cuz the consequences of error might be severe...they are supposed to be 1.5 self aligning...but one reason im checkin is cuz 2 months after he put em on, one of his pistons exploded or somethin (probly not related)...ok thanks a lot guys

well -- just so I said it , dont buy used valvetrain parts.

but if you must the Self aligning ones have tabs on either side of the roler tip that prevent the rocker from moving side to side on the valve tip. non self aliging ones dont. as for 1.5 or 1.6 it might be stamped on the body but dont count on it. you could probably find a part # and find out that way.

nothing wrong with used (reusable) valvetrain parts if you're careful... a good rocker arm is going to work no matter if its in the same engine or not....

anyhoo, its like he said. theres two humps on the tip that keep it centered over the valve.

The only aluminum rrs from Crane I've used were for a BB and they were stamped 1.8 since that was the ratio.

Can't comment on SB 1.5s and 1.6s though.
