Alright I need some help here. I am trying to finish up this motor swap and I hit a small roadblock. I am running a miniram intake but I got the older casting so I don't have the extra 2 vacuum ports on the passenger side of the intake. This poses a problem for me because now I don't have enough ports for everything that needs vacuum.
I was also trying to keep it as stock as possible, meaning I'm running the charcoal canister, and I wanted to run the PCV and CCV in the valve covers. I put up a post a couple days ago asking if it was alright to "t" the PCV with the brake booster and I got a unfavorable opinion about doing that. So I'm going to follow that advise and have my PCV using it own dedicated vacuum source. With that said now I don't have a vacuum source to use for my brake booster.
Here is what I'm thinking. The passenger side valve cover has the CCV vent/valve in it with a hose going to the side of the throttle body. Is that a vacuum supply? If it is, would it be possible to run a valve cover breather in place of the CCV vent/valve? Would that have the same effect as running it the stock way. I just want to make sure that I don't have a build up of pressure in the motor. Now if that is ok to do, can I now run a hose from the brake booster to the port on the side of the throttle body where the CCV line was going?

as far as i know, if you are running a maf set-up, you cannot do that. it would be unmetered air entering the engine. all air in the engine has to go through the maf sensor. i do not know it is ok with a map set-up, i have a maf set-up and haven't spent much time looking into the ins and outs of a map set-up. i am 95% sure about the maf stuff, although i wouldn't bet my gta on it. i hope this helps

pervious owner on my ROC had part of the tube cut off from the valve or vent from the passengerside valve cover, ran fine. dunno if that helps of not
Ok I should have said I'm running the Speed Density setup on my motor.
Now I spoke to a few people and they are telling me some stuff about how this should be done and I just want to know if this sounds ok to do.
1. It is indeed ok to remove the CCV vent/valve in the passenger valve cover and install a breather?
2. I was told to do it the opposite way I listed above. So basically what they said to do was run my brake booster line to the vacuum port of the back of the miniram, and run the PCV to the nipple on the side of the throttle body where the CCV hose was going. They said to do this because of the fluctuation in air comming into the throttle body would not be a good place to run the brake booster line, but would be alright to run my PCV line. So does this sound like the way to hook it up? If so then I can hook up all my stuff and not have to pull the intake to drill and tap more ports.

The solution you posted in your last reply sounds right to me David. You definitely don't want your brake booster tapped into a vacuum source that fluctuates a lot. The back of the plenum is definitely the best location for that. The pcv system wouldn't see any ill effects being tapped into the throttle body either. Even on a MAF system, you'd be fine running a breather cap on the valve cover as long as you plugged off the nipple on the side of the throttle body.
If I were you I just pull the intake off and drill and tap what you need where you need it. It will kinda suck, but it would be done the right way.

Thanks for the reply. It seems like I'm on to something here and I should be able to run everything I want with my limited supply of vacuum ports. I do want to ask you something about the last sentence you posted.

So what I am wanting to do is replace the CCV valve/vent with a valve cover breather, therefore leaving that open nipple on the side of the throttle body. I now want to use that nipple for my PCV valve.
Is that going to be ok to do? and if so then I think I can now hook up all the parts that need vacuum without pulling off my intake and tapping more holes.

Yeah I see what you're thinking. That should work out just fine using it for the pcv and having a breather in the valve cover.
