Need opinions/advice...please!
From my signature you can see the new setup that I will be running in the spring. However I am starting to think that I made the wrong choice in heads. I don't know if the WP Torquer S/R's are going to flow enough to match the intake and cam. It's only recently that this has become a concern. I know my intake and cam is a good match. The LT4 hotcam is good to 6500 rpm and I've seen dyno graphs where the Miniram is still making power at 7000 rpm. So I know they will work. But I am concerned about my heads. My goal with this buildup was to see 12's on motor. High 12's realistically, but 12's nevertheless. What do you guys think? Did I make the right choice? Am I going to be dissapointed? Should I have saved more coin and gotten the AFR 195's? Any help or opinions would be great. Thanks!

Do you have any flow numbers on the heads you have? If I recall they don't flow too good on the exhaust, but do pretty good on the intake. I would think a little bowl work and smoothing on the exhaust side would get you where you want to be. The 10* split to the exhaust on the hotcam won't hurt either. I think you will get in the 12s if it's tuned good.
Good luck,
Charlie

Okay I just checked out the World Products Torquer heads on the Stan Wiess cylinder head chart. Here is what I found.
At .500 lift they flow 221/166 cfm and will support up to 454HP.
At .400 lift they flow 205/156 cfm and will support up to 421 HP at that lift.
The mini ram will flow more than 221 cfm so then the heads will become the bottle neck. Like was said above maybe a little work on the heads and things will improve. Since you already have the heads I would install them and see what happens. You might be surprised. 221 CFM will support quite a bit of HP. Allen

Those really are pretty low on the exhaust. I would do a little work on them to get the numbers up on the exhaust if I were to use them. The intakes are pretty fair, although they aren't spectacular either. I would be hesitant to try them if I wasn't sure. It is a lot easier to sell a set of heads that haven't been on a motor and now is the best time to change your mind.
My ported cast L98 heads flowed;
248cfm intake@.480" lift
237cfm@.400"
181cfmexhaust@.500"
169cfm@.400"
Good luck with your decision,
Charlie

You should get something better to support you higher lift numbers and RPMs, if you plan on pushing to 6500. The runner cross section is smallish. The flow numbers are decent for the investment, but there are so many more choices. Go over to www.chevyhiperformance.com and search there site for the flowbench testing. They tested like everyhead available for the SBC and BBC. You will go blind before you are done reading there...
Good luck...
