305 chevy or pontiac?

ok....dumb question....but i'm unsure of myself
i have an 86 trans am with a 305 tuned port injection
is this a chevy or pontiac engine?

Axle/Gears: 3.73, 3.90, 4.88, 3.55, 3.54, 7.00
Chevy. There haven't been real Pontiac engines for some time. Actually all the engines are GM now, because they are used throughout the product lines.

Back in the day all divisions got to design their own motors, but GM figured that it was too costly to produce cars like that.

Yeah, no problem.

It's really a shame, because every division had a great engine or two. It'd be cool to see what they'd have in this day and age with all the advancements in technology.

I'd like a modern Olds 350. Big bore, short stroke, & long rods. With EFI it's be a screamer!
