Exhuast suggestions

I went down to the muffler shop they told me i cant do true daul exhausts meaning a pipe going from each header straight back to a muffler without a cat on each side. I have a 85 corvette. Also I love the sound of the exhaust as it is but i definitely want to remove the cat, what is the best exhaust for my car?
thanx

a few vette guys hang out around here, one is mad-mic he's putting on headers soon, new front Y pipe with no pre-cats, and no Mufflers. in think the new y-pipe is 3 inches off the each manifold i think.

should pm him and ask some questions about whats good.

If you had two cut-outs welded in after the cats, and you gut the cats and remount them to pass visual - there's functional true dual exhaust.

However, if you want the authenticity factor, you'd have to run bullet style mufflers IMO to have an easy job of it.
