Head/Baseplate Compatability

Im thinking about ordering the GM Goodwrench 350 Crate from Summit:

I want to use the heads on it, get them ported. The only problem is that I want to use the TPI set up on it. Does anyone know an aftermarket baseplate that would bolt up to them? I heard TPIS' has one. Or this may be a stupid question but will the manifolds ment for the 82' - 92' heads bolt on?

I'm pretty sure all the aftermarket baseplates are "dual pattern"...ie the center 4 intake holes are pre-slotted..least my Accel intake is.

Are you looking for performance?

If so, I don't think I'd spend time on the crate engines heads...you probably would do better with a better shortblock, and purchase a good set of heads.

Another thing...is your '91 a L98..i/e a 350? If so, your current heads rebuilt, would give you more performance on the same shortblock listed, than working on the 76cc heads.

Yea I was thinking about looking through the local papers and trying to find a nice shortblock, Sounds like a good idea. My 91' is an LB9 thats why I want to do the swap.
