speed density or MAF which way??

I just bought a 87 IROC 350 comes with everything but computer. Since I must buy one which way should I go. The motor already has the MAF but if there is an advantage to going SD could someone help me out. It also has the wiring harness for maf and I know the swap isn't hard but just wondering which way is the better way.
Thanks
Graham

In short, use whatever is cheaper, they both work good. A new MAF will cost more money but helps the car run a little better I think. The wire in it helps measure and calculate the airflow better than speed density system. GM decided to switch back to MAFs in 1993 for all 4th gens.

Do a search and then come to your own conclusions. This topic has been beat to death here. There are pros and cons to both.

all i know for sure is that maf can very easily compesate for performance mods you may decide to want in the future whereas SD cannot calculate for them, which translates into alot of ecm recalibrating (every time you mod) equalling $$$$.. But then of course MAF sensors arent cheap either when the break. Hope i was helpful in your decision....
