Axle/Gears: Strange 12-bolt
415" build up starts...
Now it begins...
*Motown block 415 cui
*Eagle 4340 crank and rods
*JE forged -21cc pistons 9.0:1 comp
*Jegs 197ccc heads
*Accel Superram intake
*CC NX276HR cam 224/236 .544/.554 with 1.6 RR
*SLP 1.3/4 headers
*2600rpm 9.5" ACT convertor
*52mmTB (will upgrade to 58mm when I find one used for sale...)
9 psi intercooled boost by procharger...
Cam: I know the cam is pretty small but I wont rev beyond 6k and it must pass emission....
Intake: Seriously consider a HSR instead but havent decided yet! comments?

My combo is pretty close to that.
I'm using Edelbrock 60739 heads though and more compression since I'm NA.
I don't know anything about the JEGS heads you've chosen so can't comment on them. Post more info on the heads.
My camshaft is also a CC custom ground hydraulic roller, 275/281 advertised; 224/230 @ .050 .576 w/1.52 RRs intake and .544 w/1.6 RRs exhaust; had it ground on 114 LSA. Sweet Cam.

Do you have a SR intake? Does the cam pull up top?

I used "Engine Analyzer Pro" computer simulation program from Performance Trends to help me in the selection of the camshaft I'm running. The program allows input of a LOT of engine variables (no wonder it costs $600+) that many other sims don't.
Since I was shooting for torque, not high RPM HP, I kept the duration on the short side and the LSA on the wide side, but I shot for as much valve lift as possible.
The sim shows HP peak at 5700 RPM.
No, I'm not running an aftermarket intake setup. I followed MadMax's lead and extensively ported the intake manifold, removed all but 4" of the runner dividers and opened up the stock plenum as much as I could.
I've had the engine up to 6375 in 2nd gear when I decided to shift; that was about 10% above the power peak and close to the limit of what a hydraulic roller can reliably rev to.
For my purpose, the cam gives the best of both worlds; works well over the entire RPM band, including excellent vacuum at idle for the brakes.
Hope this helps.

Yeah, I know....
My setup is build to rev max 6k I also chose a "small" cam for the same reason you did, overall performance and a nice idle..
Just consider to buy a HSR instead of the SR havent decided yet...
