how much for 87 IROC??
First of all, I had no idea where to post this so if it's wrong, my apologies to the Mods. Move it if you must, just need some info.
Well I finally found a decent car. My 89 RS was totalled and was looking to replace it. I found a beautiful 87 IROC, power everything except seats, perfect leather interior, 350TPI, with of course the 4 speed, ac, immaculant condition basically with 114K miles on the odometer. Well the guy is asking $6400 for it. I checked on Kelly blue book, and with all the options listed and everything, it's only going for $2620 private party value, and $3710 for a dealer value. Well, what should I offer this guy? I am in dire need of a camaro, having withdrawals, so what should I offer this guy so he doesn't laugh at me, but so as I don't get screwed either? I'm gonna look at it tomorrow, so bash me with your opinions asap. Again, if this is in the wrong place, mods, I apologize. Thanks!

It's really hard to go by KBB for these cars. Has he done any mods? If so, that may be worth something to you if they are something that you were going to do. I think $6400 is a little high but I haven't seen the car. I definitely wouldn't spend that much if the engine is the original and hasn't had any work done to it. I would think that $4000 would be the max depending on what mods were done. He may laugh at $4000 but I would have to laugh at $6400.

Alright, that is what i was thinking too. I was planning on offering $3K at first and just working from there. From what I know, he has done no mods to the car. So that shouldn't factor into the price. Hopefully it can be had for fairly cheap.

Ugh, turns out it was an IROC "clone"....he took a v6 body and put all the stuff from a wrecked IROC onto the straight body. Blah blah blah, spent a lot of money, wanting to get it back, blah blah blah. Lowest he would go is $5500. I feel sorry for the poor soul who gets insurance on that thing with with VIN reading a V6 and doesn't get squat when it is wrecked. Man, the search continues....
