Injector..Stuff..

This is probably a stupid question, but nobody else will help me with it, and it's really pissing me off. I'm trying to keep my temper but I eventually want this car out of the F'in garage.
Anyway..I can't figure out if my injectors are seated fully or not. Some of them go all the way in, and some of them sit there with a side ridge in view that makes it look like it isn't fully pushed in. Genious man who owned the car before me didn't put the retaining clips back on when he cleaned them, if that makes any difference. I'm trying to decide if I should keep trying to get it to work, or if I should go buy new injectors. I really don't WANT to buy new injectors, but if that solves everything, all the better..
Which brings me to a second question..As soon as I'm more familiar with the whole TPI thing, I'm planning on fitting a 350 block I have with some new stuff to drop it in. I read somewhere on here that it's a good idea to buy 24lb or 22lb injectors (cant remember which one) for 350's..I'm wondering if it would hurt the system at all if these injectors were to be put on a 305, because I really don't want to replace the ones I have with something suited for it and then buy another set after dropping a new engine in.

Anyway..any help is appreciated..I don't really have anyone else to help me with it. The only thing people know how to do around here is put on an intake pipe on or glue a piece of wood to the back of a car for a spoiler. I don't know everything but I'm trying to teach myself, hence stupid questions. I just want this car to run. Thanks.

Do you know if the injectors are GM 19lb multecs??? If you can get the part# off of any of them you can indetify them Just goto google and do a search on the part#. If they are the OEM Multec injector, is your fuel rail bolted down tight to your intake with no space between the fuel rail mounting tabs and the intake itself??? The only other factor may be that your injectors have been changed. Then they could be 1/4" shorter depending on the manufacturer and type of injector.Even then the injector will usually be seated enough to perform properly. I run injectors from an LS1 in my L98 and they are shorter. I have them pressed down as far as they can go without being pulled out of the fuel rail. The locking clips are not installed and everything is fine. Are you concerned your injector isn't seated deep enough and the spray pattern is being shrouded??? I would be more concerned with the injector being bad rather than the height of the injector. Have you tried to read the resistance of each injector???

If you're seeing a side ridge of the o-ring, they are not fully seated. When installing the injectors in the fuel rail, it is recommended to lightly lube the o-rings and chamber with engine oil. Then push the injectors firmly into the fuel rail. Next seat the injectors into the manifold and secure the fuel rail with the four bolts. The torque value on the fuel rail bolts is 15 foot pounds.

I am actually more worried about a fuel leak than any of that. I don't know the part# of the injectors, but I'm not too concerned about them necessarily being bad. I didn't have any injector-related problems prior to taking the system apart, so I'm not worried about it too much. I'm mainly worried about how they look as if they're not seated in all the way, but it sounds like I shouldn't need to worry about it if the O rings are in the right place.
