egr and afpr ?

what can cause an egr to go bad could fuel pressure be related to it???

cause i just replaced my egr cause i figured it was bad cause the car was running like ****. so replaced it and fixed it but i just put on an AFPR and left it in the stock position and then since i don't have a pressure gauge i turned it up (the correct way) don't know how much but would

1) to much fuel pressure cause like a miss almost.
2) can fuel pressure cause an egr to go bad

You need to find a buddy with a fuel pressure guage, or just pick on up at the local AZ kind of parts store. Mine was like $20 if I remember correctly (was a year or two ago).

The reason I say that is turning up the fuel pressure will in essence make the car run a richer fule mixture. If you turned it up very far you can actually start to flood it out. As I found out on an old Holley C950 I had on a big block, too much unburned fuel can also end up tricking an O2 sensor into thinking its actually too lean, which adds to the problem. It can also cool off the O2 enough that the system quits looking to it for info. In addition, too much fuel can "wash" the cylinder walls of oil, causing mechanical damage over time. All are reasons to check it anytime you think you changed it, plus I wouldn't count on the "initial factory setting" to have been correct, either.

On my Holley AFPR, a little bit of adjustment makes a big difference in the pressure, so you need to find out what your is set at ASAP. My initial setting out of the package was also about 23 PSI. Don't assume or count on anything, it's not hard or expensive to do, so CHECK IT!!!

Hope this help. Have a Great Day!!!
