AFPR vaccum line and fuel question

Hi guys!

I wonder about what function of the vacuum line between the AFPR and the plenum? A rat had chewed on mine and when I replaced it I felt that the car ran stronger. I don't know if it's something I imagine or....

Next question is what to do if the car runs too lean. The emission test guy told me that it runs very lean. If you hook up a scantool it shows a BLM at 153? Any ideas would be most appreciated.

without the vacuum hose connected to the afpr, your fp would stay at it's desired fuel pressure like if it was on WOT. if you connect the line back to the afpr, the vacuum will lower the fp when your not in WOT, and give you max fp at WOT because of the lack of vacuum.

if your car is running lean... raise the fp, thats it. even it out... but first check your plugs to make sure your running lean... if you look at the back of a haynes manual, it'll show you all the different looking plugs and what causes a plug to look so retarded... if your plug looks like it's running lean, or you hear a little bit of pinging, or if you have headers, raise the fp by like 2 psi. dont go over 47-48... you won't be too happy if you gas wash your rings.
