From TPI to: Stealthram or Carb?
I was wondering, I have a pretty much totalled Iroc (haildamage) and if I fix it, I will probably get a loan.
This car will not be a daily driver anymore, I have a beater Neon for that now. I have a 383 sitting in my grandpa's shed that has never been started that has been sitting for a few years. As far as I know it is rusted up. That 383 was built up for some high HP #'s on a carb setup (big solid roller cam).
Question is......if I use the L98 or the 383 as a starting point, should I go with a carb setup or go with a Stealthram? I don't want any "it's your choice" stuff. I would like to know which one you would go with and why.
If I can use the 383, I can either tone it down to FI standards (cam etc.) or I can keep what is in there (or get a similar big "rough idle" cam) and stay wild/carb.
Let's concentrate on the L98 conversion though, at least I know it isn't rusted.

This is not even a decision in my book - for the same amount of money to take out ECU and then put in Carb - you can go with the HSR and have a powerband that travels above and beyond a Carb, better fuel mileage, and better adaptation to different conditions because of the ECU. Whats the big decision?
