Help motor wont start!
Just dropped motor in the other day and it has intermediate spark does not really want to start. We got it to start for about 10 seconds and that was about all we got out of it cause the batery kept dying. Could the battery be suspect or do you think I have another problem. The only other thing I could think of is maybe I dont have enuf back pressure cause my y pipe is cut off on the driver side. I dont think that would be it but not real sure what is going on. Please help!

sounds like a fuel problem. could u rev it up while it was running? is ur timing set at the right degree?
i jsut got mine running with no y-pipe, just headers
so the backpressure isnt an issue for running. not a battery problem either. but i would still charge it for better cranking amps

Fuel, Battery, Battery Cable, Altinator, Starter, Fuel pump, Fuel filter, Distributer coil. Start there
..If all else fails..Just jiggle the wires cuz its prolly an electrical problem

If it won't stay running and your battery keeps dying, I'd check the alternator and battery cables.
What does "it has intermediate spark" mean? Either it has good spark, or it doesn't; in other words it runs or it doesn't. Other than that it may be timed incorrectly, but if you didn't mess with the computer/carb it should be getting at least enough fuel to run. Might have some distrubutor/coil problem if your spark is weak.

Yea it has a yellow spark instead of a blue spark. Not sure if it is the weak battery causing it. Just kinda stressed cause its at my buddys house and it cant stay and I gotta figure out the problem without my car present. I really hope that my yellow spark is the battery being low. and the firing sometimes and not other times (intermediate) is also the weak battery. if not I was thinking maybe coil or wiring witch would suck cause I dont have the money to fix either of them any time soon. Any body else had a similar problem and maybe tips to help?
