what the hell is this?

Don't know where to put this topic, because I don't know what the hell this thing is. I'll try here first.

I'm swapping to an HSR manifold and was mounting my coil in the stock location and trying to figure this thing out. It has an electrical connector and vacuum lines to the plenum. Any ideas?

That, my good man is the EGR solenoid which has a vacuum line running to the EGR and the little nipple at the base of the throttle body.
