MSD Distributor
I thought I would post my experience with my ignition system on my 1989 5.0 litre TPI GTA. A new 5.0 litre long block from GM was installed over a year ago. The original distributor was swapped over; however, MSD superconductor spark plug wires were installed. Unfortunately, the magnetic pick up died a few weeks ago. I had a MSD pro-billet distributor and GM blaster coil installed. I cannot compare the new ignition to an new GM system, but it sure works better than the old system. I have better idling and accelerations than the worn out system. I could recommend MSD for my application.

Install a high put ignition box.. Like a MSD hi 6
or a crane Hi 6 box..
then you be talking a significant difference. I have seen bothe ingitons shoot an arc or spark from a single wire over 6 inches and pop on contact.. You will be lucky if you can even see it with out a box..
True to the fact that GM gave us JUNK for an ignition system if you wanna make real power...
