Interesting Emmisions test experience
I figured I'd share this and see if anyone has any clues to what the problem, or lack of problem is. I have my egr valve vaccume disconnected because whenever it is plugged in, it opens up too much and the engine boggs down and wants to stall. I have my est disconnected because when it is connected, my car's power decreases greatly. I just replaced the knock sensor with the correct one, the previous one was for the MAF cars. Now heres the interesting part.
The car does not throw a code 32(egr) and it had been throwing an est code. Yesterday, the check engine light went off and the code 43(est) which it had been giving went away and the car started running slightly better than before, although it always pulled hard. The egr is still disconnected as is the est wire.
Now for the really interesting part: The car passed emmisions with flying colors and 2 hollowed out cats. I'm curious to know what others make of my situation besides extremely lucky. The car is a 5.0 tpi.
