do injectors fire by 2 seperate banks or individually

i just put a tpi set up in my 89 formula and had the tbi harness converted to tpi. the person who made it took the 4 injector wires from the tbi and spliced them up with the 16 wires for tpi. i was wondering if this will be a problem. he said it wont and that the injecotors fire in banks not one by one. (left side then right, left, right, ect.) i was told the LT1 dose the same thing and only the LS1 fires individually. is this true, i really need a second opion. thanks alot.

Our cars are batch fire, meaning that all 8 injectors fire at the same time. So, it is neither bank nor sequential. The bank to bank myth probably results from the fact that each bank has its own wire leading out of the ECM. Regardless, all 8 injectors fire simultaneously. Batch fire. Don't know about LT1s.

BTW, this horse has been beaten to death here, a search on "batch fire" will return some interesting stuff!

IIRC, The early LT1 cars ('92-'93 Y-body, '93 F-body) were batch fire and OBD I. Later LT1s ('94-'96 Y-and B-body, '94-'97 F-body) were sequential fire and OBD II.

Hope that helps ya.
