Rocker Reccomendation
Hey everyone,
Putting a 350 TPI into my car soon and wanted to know what rockers you all reccomend. The Cam:
Specifications:
* Advertised duration: 280 intake/280 exhaust
* Duration at .050 in. cam lift: 230 intake/230 exhaust
* Gross valve lift: .480 in. intake/.480 in. exhaust
* Lobe separation: 110 degrees
* RPM range: 2,000 to 6,000
* Rough idle quality
It is a kit by comp that comes with the springs to match and the timing chain. So what do you guys think for the rockers? and do you think it is a good cam?

If you've got the money to toss around, get a set of Comp Cam Pro Magnum rockers like stated above. If not, get a set of Comp Cams Magnum roller tip. Avoid any aluminum bodied arm as aluminum does not have the fatigue resistance of steel.
Might I ask what the rest of the setup is going to be?

The Heads are going to be stock for now...the intake/runners/plenum are the edelbrock ones, Headers are going to be shorties by hedman, exhaust is gonna be 3 inch all the way to my flowmaster 80 series, with a pro built 700r4 with corvette servo and boost valve, and the rear is gonna be a a 10 Bolt with an eaton LSD. Thats about it till I raise enough money to buy dart heads. Oh yeah and my buddy who works at kelley chevrolet is going to tune the computer and dyno the car. The project is just getting started so when it is done i will report back here with some numbers.

That cam will not be fub with a tpi setup ... Let alone tuning on the stock ecm. Will it run? Yes, but it wont be fun or very efficient either..
I ran a hotcam in a 350 and I wouldnt do it again using tpi :-) Been there done that and do my own tuning as well.
My 383 in progress is gonna end up around 216/221 and 500 lift :-)
Should idle like a stocker(close to it) and pull like a freight train.

Im running an XR282HR, which has similar 0.050 duration numbers and LSA to the one youre looking at, but Im running a modded HSR and 200cc heads. This cam is pretty aggressive for the street, and probably over the top for TPI. Youll need some converter behind it as well.
