Re-routing fuel lines out of the trans tunnel?

Has anyone re-routed their fuel lines outside of the trans tunnel? I ask because I have Hooker LT headers with Mufflex y-pipe and the fuel is getting heated very badly as it passes the exhaust. The fuel pressure regulator gets too hot to touch. Also I was considering running larger fuel lines.

If anyone has any suggestions/comments/experiences/pictures they would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

On my brothers car (ljnowell) we swapped from a v6 to a v8 and rerouted the fuel lines from the tank down the passenger side of the car just by simply unbolting the fuel lines and moving them over and rebending them where needed and then using the factory clips reinstalled them on the passenger side of the car ..the holes for the clips are already there for them and it works great.....

Don't know about yours but the fuel lines on mine run about a foot or more to the left of the tranny tunnel.

I too, have a Mufflex "Y" with longtubes. I removed all my stock lines when I installed my Aeromotive fuel system. I am using a -8 supply, and a -8 return. My lines are on the drivers side, pretty much in the same place the stock lines are. As they come up to the driverside uni-body frame rail, I nylon tied them together, and used plenty of rubber clamps throughout the system. I was also trying to remain NHRA legal with the rule, No fuel lines in the trans. tunnel. My lines are near the left header collector, on the inside of the frame rail, but, I believe it does not get hot enough , because the nylon ties never burned. This has been this way for almost 2 years, with no problems. Hope this helps...Tom

Thanks for the help so far. My lines are on the driver side now just about on the edge of the trans tunnel.

Do you have any pics of the Aeromotive fuel system? I am planning on moving the lines this winter and I want to stay NHRA legal also.

Did you sump the tank?
