Alternate Ignition source

I'll soon have my First TPI setup and am hoping to use my current MSD distributor and 6AL box. Though my distributor has internal weights and vacuum advance it can be locked. Anybody see any reason I can't used the PCM to control spark advance via the
6-AL.
