LT1 Heads for an L98?
I have an opportunity to pick up a set of LT1 heads for a pretty good price. The casting # is 12554290 and they supposidly came off an Impala SS.
Will these heads work as a "bolt-on" to my '88 L98?

yes they will bolt on... no they wont work.
LT1's use a "reverse cooling" flow. you will have to have them drilled for steam holes and something else, i forgot what the something else is.
those heads are not all that much better than your L98's. the Impala if im not mistaken got the iron heads. i could be wrong, but i think the 96 impala got the aluminum ones.
i could be wrong on the last part though.
anyways, not worth the hassel if they are iron, plus the machine work to make them usable on a Gen1 block. LT1's are Gen2's

Cool! Thanks for your help! I'll scrap that plan and move forward rebuilding my L98's.
