Broken and Lost Fuel Injector Locks
Well, in the process of my retrofit of TPI on my LG4, I decided I was going to remove my injectors for fresh o-rings. I neded up with some busted knuckles... which heal
... and busted injector locks. I also saw there were 2 injector locks missing from this set too
Beffuddled the bejesis out of me...
SO I went to the junk yard in the snow today, and figured the 3.1L motors had the same injector locks... well, they don't. Does anyone know a good resource for these parts?

Got a pack of them from the dealer a few years back. I don't remember if they had to be ordered but they were pretty cheap. That would be my first choice since the thin metal these things are made of doesn't hold up well to repeated use.

You really don't need the clips as once the fuel rail is bolted down to the intake base there is no where for the injector to go. You can't really pull the injector up or down without the clip anyway so allignment really is not an issue. You can still buy the clips at many differenet parts stores or GM. I see you changed the o rings which is a good idea. The best ones I have used are the blue ones from GM. They are slightly oversized or maybe they are just puffy, but they are very tough and give an awsome seal. Don't try buying a generic o ring, as it doesn't pay to have fuel shooting around at 50 psi in the engine bay. Make sure you replace the o rings on the fuel supply and return lines as well where they come off the fuel rail. Its cheap insurance......

thanks for the tip... I bought a complete tpi gasket set from Napa, and it contained some black o-rings... I'm not real impressed with em, they seemed as hard as the 18 yr old ones... a little armor all softened them up a bit.
