man i lucked out

when i went to put my holley 58 on my car i was getting the bypass off the bottom of the 20 year old stock tb that had never been touched. i broke 4 of the bolts off and were left with 2 bolts, then when i tried to pry the crossover off it broke in half, but i was ably to salvage the vacuum part for the iac and seal it with two bolts and some silicone. damn i was lucky, 20 year old water crossovers are not fun

same thing happened to me on saturday when i put my 52 on, only i broke 5 of the 7 bolts(good thing new ones came with it). Decided to beat water passage off with hammer....it broke. i was able to salvage the IAC part of it and ive had the coolant bypassed for the last 2 years.

yeh, used vice grips and the broken bolts came right out, go figure. by the way, did you notice any difference with the 58. i heard that they mess with the timing of the transmission shifts, making them shift too soon.

no it actually is running great, i had heard that i would have throttle boog, but in fact my throttle response has been better and my idle is perfect, shifts are great too
