lg4 to L98, desperately need fuel pump help

after hours of seraching im just getting angry

i have a mechanical fuel pump in an 87 lg4.
i hear that i also have an electric pump in my tank?
when i drop the L98 in, i was going to go with an inline pump,
ppl are saying that ill have to drop the tank anyway to get the old pump and i might as well get an intank pump.

i wont drop the tank unless i have to, i dont mind. but the ease of an inline is music to my ears.

i know ill need new lines and a fuel filter to route on the drivers side. but is a line there for an inline pump and will it be a problem getting power to it, relays, fuses etc.

other than the computer and wiring and bolting the L98 to a t-5 and not an auto (supposeably i have to custom burn the prom) this is another confusing issue.

any input would definately be helpful

If you have a pump in the tank (even a low pressure variety), you could feasibly install a pump inline to feed the TPI. It can be mounted anywhere convenient. Bosch had several inline pumps that would feed the CIS and CIS-E systems at over 75 PSIG. They did require an external accumulator, however.
