Is porting LB9 tpi better for HP or raised RPMs...both?

My name is Kevin and I have a Lb9/auto/2.73 <---sounds like an Alcoholics anynomous intro.

I want to gain some upper end breathing room for the time being, but I'm just wondering if it's worth it. Just by doing the minor things to the plenum and such (no welders here) what gains are we talking? What HP and how many more rpms will I have on my stock configuration>>>>and eventually with headers and gears?

Be honest, is it worth it. And is the sotp feeling there?

Porting the plenum helps, MAYBE a 1/10 in the 1/4mile.

The time to port the intake manifold is not worth it ($ & time & hp).

Save the $ and go with headers and gears.

My 2 cents.

I agree. The factory TPI system is really well designed, so leave it alone. Unless you have lots of other mods, like headers, heads, cam, etc. there's no point in messing with it. Gears will give obvious results that are real (please don't overdo it). A set of headers and good exhaust system is also a great step.

Thanks yous!

I'm planning on 3.42's and headers in the future. 3.42's will be first.
