scanner: TPS 5.0v and coolant temp -38F?

Anyone have any idea how I can get a reading in TunerRT showing my TPS at 5.0v and my coolant at -38 degrees F? The values will also fluctuate on my as I stare in amazement. I haven't been able to move this car out of my garage for months of trying to get this thing running right. I'm also having a problem with the engine stalling when the temperature heats up. I thought I had a bad TPS, so I tried to replace it and broke off a bolt in the throttle body. I then swapped my TB with one I had laying around - including IAC and TPS. I tried to set the IAC and now my TPS. The TPS used to look good at .65v, but now it's showing 5v and I can't start it or do anything. I'm using a stock AXCN with Vats turned off - SD setup.

Thanks!

Bad Coolant Temper Sensor or bad CTS wiring...

Yah...-38F is a great sign of a bad sensor

Now I waited some time and went back into the garage. The readouts were still really strange again. I disconnected tunerRT, then reconnected it. When I did, the voltages came back and my engine temp now shows 64 degrees F. The TPS voltage now went back to .65.

Has anyone seen this strange behavior?

What's really funny, I can't start my engine when the readings are wacked, but when I wait a while until the readings settle back down, it will start up fine.

I was able to start it up, but then the car started running like crap. I had a datalog going, but it looks like it only exported the last bit of it.... But, you can see how the sensors all went wacky again? Any ideas would be much appreciated!!!

Actually, it appears that you may have a bad ECM...I would check all the grounds first, just to be sure...but someone is really screwy here...

fixed

Ok, I picked up a new computer today from the bone yard. Guess what, that fixed this problem.

This is my first TPI engine. I have never had it running for more than 10 mins. This is my 3rd computer too.

The first computer wouldn't fire my injectors at all, this computer would flake out after a couple mins running and wouldn't restart the engine.

This 3rd computer runs fine and keeps running. It also lets me restart the engine!

Thanks everyone for the guidance getting over this hurdle!

Glad you got it fixed....you would have to suspect the computer or the wiring harness with multiple wierd problems that come and go...
