how do i take my TB apart?
my dads friends with a retired master machinest(or whatever there called in that field, master, pro, i don't know, haha). we want to take my TB apart, make the hole for the rod that holds the butterflys, bigger. and then stick in a brass or aluminuminnmmuinumin bushing.
if that made NO sense, heres my problem. my throttle sticks. why? because that hole for the rod that runs through the whole TB is e-longated from use. we want to change that...
can someone tell me how or point me to someone who could tell me?

Try speaking to someone who bores out throttle bodies. I know they deal with this same problem often. It might be worth while to hear what they have to say. There is at least one guy on Ebay all the time that does this. However, you might want to consider the amount of work and expense this will set you back and see if its worth the trouble over getting a new or slightly used tb.

Ever think of trying a Carb rebuilder near you? Alsmot everymajor area still has one or two floating around.
They have to rebush carb TB shafts all the time.
Bet they would do yours for pretty cheap as well.
Around here it runs 35$ to bush the throttle shafts.
Lot cheaper than spending 300$ to replace it.

I picked up an LT1 TB a while back that had been worked out to 52mm blades. They didn't finish it however. On that one, they had removed the throttle arm on the driver side, and slid the shaft out. To mount the arm back on, it had to be welded in place. The arm was originally pressed in at the factory. Not sure if there are other ways to do it.
As far as replacing a tb, its not as expensive as you think. If you aren't in a hurry, you can surely find tbs with under 50,000 miles on them for roughly $30-$50. Heck, I've run into new GM throttle bodies for $80 before.
