Hey, guys, First I wanna say TGO Rocks! i just completed a carb'ed V6 to L98 swap thanks to this site!
Anyhoo, I was just kinda wondering what kind of power I can look for (Ball park figure would be great!) with the setup I got now.... I'm runnin a Melling torque cam (Lift .420/.443 Duration @ .050" 204¯/214) with mostly stock runnin gear, except for a ported plenum, iron 1.94 heads from an old (OLD) chevy truck, homemade ram air, full header and exhaust system and a 3.42 rear
Also I was wondering if a t-5 I pulled from an 89 chevy 3/4 ton would stand up to the 350?
Thanks Guys!

A truck T-5 (you sure it's V8 truck?) would have the shifter coming out too far forward for your F-Body...you'd want one fron another car or have to replace some stuff...
Reason I ask is if it's a V8 truck, I didn't think the trucks got a T-5 unless they were smaller trucks w/V6's...i know you mentioned 3/4ton...that'd almost lead me to think it'd be a regular truck tranny...i/e with compound low style...anyway just curious about that.
Do you have a pic of the tranny?

Well, The Digital camera took a crap today, so no pics, but i did get the casting numbers, don't know if that will do any good or not. Any tech wizards who can tell me what they identify the Tranny as will be bowed down to profusely
Pt # GM8672304 (main case)
Pt# GM8672305 (bell housing)
I also looked at some T-5's on ebay, and the tranny I have is different, it has a taller midsection and has what look like structural ribbing on the main case..... Tranny's are outta my league, so I'm not really sure what this is.

Sounds like an NV 3500 or 4500. It is steel or aluminum?

it's all aluminum, after doing some research it looks like its an NV3500, so I guess it won't be going in the TA after all, unless there's some way to modify the shifter. ahh well, time to make a trip to the junkyard

then it is a 3500 because the 4500 had a cast iron case and are really tall. Yeah, sorry, won't fit too well in your F-body. Good luck in your search for a T-5/T-56.
