Where can I get a new/rebuilt "large cap" CC distributor for a 86 TPI?
The distributor on my brother's 86 IROC died recently (some bearing(s) went out or something, makes the most godawful loud squeling noise).
I'm coming up blank on finding a replacement, but maybe I'm just blind or something. All the aftermarket companies seem to only offer 87+ small cap setups for computer controlled cars, which I don't think use the same plugs for the computer control and crap. Does Accel or someone similarlly cheap make a replacement large cap distributor that I've overlooked??
The local GM dealership didn't seem to carry a replacement stock unit either.
Did the early TPI and computer-controlled carbed cars share the same distributor??
Is there a option I'm not aware of? Any input appreciated, I need to get the car back up and running...
EDIT- Just for anyone searching for one and stumbles across this post, my local Advance Auto Parts carried the same Cardone unit Rockauto.com had. $120ish. You need to remove one plug and part of the wiring harness from your original distributor to put on the new one. It looked like a decent piece and works fine so far.

Same as '86 TPI in the Corvette, IIRC.
You can get a bearing kit if the shaft is still intact. You'll have to pull/press/ream, but will have a "new" distributor when finished. You could also check the aftermarket, like RockAuto.com
