700r4 mystery

I have a 1988 350 formula and i installed a cold air intake on it.

I went to leave my house and stoped at a stop light
The car jurked foward like it was going to take off on it's own.

Then when i was in town i put it to the floor and when it got to about 30 mph it slowed down so i let off.

I tryed it again and it would not shift into 3rd gear. once it get to a certain rmp it is like it is neutral.

I drove for five minutes today and and it is worse,
it wont hardly shift into second.

Could it be a vacume sensor, or is my transmision going out.

I need help fast, im starting collage soon and i need my car.

would be better either move or delete this 1 & then to ask about it over in Transmissions and Drivetrain.

Theres no vacuum sensor.

There is a plastic gear on the governor that likes to go bad though, its not too terribly hard to replace and its pretty cheap. That may be what the problem is.

Start by adjusting your tv cable. Sounds like its doing the same thing mine did. Took the tranny apart found nothing wrong except a worn band, and then found the real problem. I could not take te 2-3 servo (the corvette one on the side) out of the transmission. That is my problem maybe yours.
