Removed air pump, have a Q

how the heck do you get that pipe behind the motor out that ran to the driver side air tubes? it's loose and dangly now.
from underneath?

i bought some 1/4" pipe pulgs for the exhaust maifolds from home depot
just gotta put them in

put in the air pump delete pulley, but really don't need it if you route the belts like a 5.7l TBI in my Blazer, same brackets and all.
Ohh well

i used a sawzall to get some of the fittings cut off, most came right off with a 14mm wrench, talk about lucky.

the old pump was a little tight, definately compared to the delete pulley

next thing is to put the cat delete pipe in when i do the SFC's.

so what did everyone else do with that tube by the rear of the motor?

Not sure if you're working on a 2nd gen F-Body or a Blazer, but I think what you're referring to on my '89 IROC goes to the Cat.

no, working on her 88 formula 350
i referenced my blazer cause i looked under that hood, had the mounting brackets, and locations of air, water pump, alt, and PS and tensioner

but i got a great deal on the air pump delete pulley, so really didn't matter to me, just referencing that incase someone else wants to remove the pump, don't really need that delete pulley afterall.

also, there were two electrical connections on this gadet that attached to the back of the air pump (it sits right behind the AC compressor). these lines went to these valves, so do we loeave them disconnected?
i took the valves off the gadget and just connected them up. looks like it was an electronic type of vacuum control for the air pump valves.

that damm pipe that routes around the back of the motor for the other side is what has me puzzled. i'll have to look at it from underneath the car, it's totally loose now.

going to put the 1/4" plugs in in a few mins, then cap off the divertor valve that goes down to the cat till the pipe comes in.

Pull it as far as it will go to one side and fire up the sawzall again, then pull it further and cut, repeat as needed.
