Cra won't stay running unless MAF is unplugged
I'm sure this is somewhere on here but after seraching for the past hour and not finding anything....here goes.
On an '87 IROC 5.0 (stock) the engine refuses to run on its own unless the MAF is unplugged. With it plugged in, the car will not start or if it does catch and start, it dies immediately unless you give it gas.
The car holds good fuel pressure and the following things have been replaced in the last few months: IAT, MAF, MAF relays, CTS, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil.
Also, the injectors have been serviced and flow tested.

I was afraid of that. The MAF is about one month old and this problem has been occuring for about one month. I used to get a code for MAF, so I replaced it and the relays. Well, no more code but now this problem which started about 2-3 days after those items were changed.
The MAF came from Murrays and I believe it was new and not remanufactured.

The b!tch of it is, I can just easily have the same problem with the next MAF from them.
I can understand that a poorly designed part can have a great failure rate but by now there has to be some kind of answer to all these MAF problems. I know SD is an option but I don't feel like wasting that much time into the car.
